It’s nice to be nominated – especially if you work on 30 Rock. The NBC comedy snagged a series-leading 17 Emmy nominations Thursday morning, including the biggies for Comedy Series, Comedy Actress for Tina Fey and Comedy Actor for Alec Baldwin.

"I'm flattered to be nominated,” the actor says in a statement. “Congratulations to Tina and everyone at 30 Rock. The writers do a wonderful job, and I hope we have some success in September. I am delighted for any recognition the show receives and thank you to the Academy."

The Golden Globe winner is up against The Office’s Steve Carell, Pushing DaisiesLee Pace, Monk’s three-time Emmy winner Tony Shalhoub and newlywed Charlie Sheen of Two and a Half Men.

While 30 Rock has a one in five chance of winning in Comedy Actor, it has a four in five chance of scoring a statuette in the Guest Comedy Actor, as the show’s temporary talent Rip Torn, Will Arnett, Steve Buscemi and Tim Conway monopolized the category (Curb Your Enthusiasm’s Shelley Berman prevented the sweep).

The lucky gents were quick to credit the show’s multi-talented cast for their honors.

"In comedy, the most important thing is the people you're acting with,” Rip says in a statement. “Working with Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin, you're more than half way there."

Adds Will, whose wife Amy Poehler is nominated for Supporting Comedy Actress for Saturday Night Live, "My parents always told me it was important to be a good guest, so I feel like they deserve the credit."
