'90210' Actress Jennie Garth Explains Her Sudden Drastic Weight Loss

In recent weeks, Jennie Garth has showed off a shockingly thinner frame and the recently divorced star reveals to Us Weekly how she lost the weight.

Dr. Eric Braverman, author of The Younger (Thinner) You Diet, estimates the reality personality has lost 20 pounds in the last three months and is back to the figure she had in 2007 when she competed on Dancing with the Stars.

So how'd she do it?

"I'm just taking care of myself: Eating less, exercising more, drinking a lot of coconut water," she said.

"I eat a lot of Greek yogurt: Greek yogurt in the morning, salads and proteins the rest of the day and maybe a cupcake if I've been a good girl. I don't believe in depriving yourself of things you want."

Besides eating healthy, the 40-year-old has been working out hard. A friend of the actress tells the site that, "she did a lot of outdoor activities: running, hiking and riding her horse," in addition to hitting Cold Iron Barbell gym three times a week.

"We don't use machines here. It's all free weights," co-owner Shannon Stewart says of the 90-minute sessions. "We like to do circuits: She'd push over a tractor tire, then do push-ups, then jump rope, do deadlifts and run for a bit."

And the mom of three is all about flaunting her new bod.

"Before she used to be like, 'OK, let's cover me up," says a friend Jennie's. "And now she's more open-minded about having fun with her clothes. She's feeling good in her skin."
