Adele Tops American Music Awards Nominations

There's no stopping Adele now! The British pop star earned four nominations for the 2011 American Music Awards and beat out Lady Gaga and Katy Perry to earn the most noms for the show. The 23 year-old was nominated for favorite rock/pop female artist, adult contemporary artist, album and artist of the year.
Katy and Lady Gaga, along with Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Lil Wayne and country music group The Band Perry were all nominated three times, as reported by Reuters. Bruno Mars and Beyonce were each nominated twice.
In other categories, Justin Bieber, Bruno Mars and Pitbull will compete for favorite male artist. In addition to Adele's smash hit album 21, other nominees in the favorite pop album categoroy include Lady Gaga's Born This Way and Rihanna's Loud.

In the soul and R&B category, Chris Brown, Rihanna, Beyonce and Kelly Rowland are all up for an award and in indie rock, The Black Keyes, Mumford & Sons and Foo Fighters will vie for favorite artist.

Winners will be determined by online voting and they'll be announced when the show is broadcast on November 20.
