'Up In the Air,' 'Inglourious Basterds' & 'Precious' Lead Pack of SAG Nominees

Award nomination season is in full force, as the Screen Actors Guild Awards announced this year's picks: Up in the Air, Precious and Inglourious Basterds lead with three nominations each. George Clooney, Diane Kruger and newcomer Gabourey Sidibe were all recognized for performances in their respective films.
Quentin Tarantino's revision of World War II is competing against Precious: Based on the Novel 'Push' By Sapphire, along with An Education, The Hurt Locker and Nine for the overall cast award.
While George competes for lead actor honors, his co-stars Vera Farmiga and Anna Kendrick will go against each other for the supporting actress award.
Gabourey's name is on the list for lead actress nominees, with co-star Mo'Nique, who played her abusive mother in Precious, up for a supporting actress nod.
Other best actor nominees include Jeff Bridges in Crazy Heart, Colin Firth for A Single Man, Morgan Freeman as Nelson Mandela in Invictus and Jeremy Renner in The Hurt Locker.

Vying for leading actress against Gabourey is Sandra Bullock for The Bllind Side, Helen Mirren in The Last Station, Carey Mulligan in An Education and Meryl Streep in Julie & Julia.
Going head-to-head with Vera, Anna and Mo'Nique in the supporting actress category is Penélope Cruz for Nine.
Christoph Waltz's turn as a ruthless Nazi in Inglourious Basterds has garnered him a supporting actor nom, as well as Matt Damon for Invictus, Woody Harrelson in The Messenger, Christopher Plummer in The Last Station and Stanley Tucci in The Lovely Bones.
The SAG Awards will be handed out Jan. 23.
