Alien Casting Call

I had a great weekend – tivo on the couch Friday, brunch and

shopping Saturday and a leisurely morning with the paper, the gym, reading and

writing in a coffee shop before returning to the couch for take out and Desperate

Housewives Sunday.

When busy defines your life, it’s great to now and again

embrace lazy.

Most memorable thing I read in the paper today:

The ‘Weird But True’ section of the New York Post announced

a casting call for alien look-a-likes. Specifically, it said, “The producers of

the latest ‘Star Trek’ movie are holding an open cast call for background

actors. Such sought after anatomical features include long necks, small heads,

wide-set eyes or general facial deformities’ and ‘athletic enough for

form-fitting uniforms.’ If you fit the bill you’ll be in good company. Earlier

in the week I was surprised to learn that Winona Ryder has been cast in the

Star Trek movie – as Spock’s mom!
