'American Idol' Alum David Archuleta Dropped from Record Label

American Idol alum David Archuleta has been dropped from his recording label, Jive Records, according to new reports.
"David was released from our roster,” a rep for the company told the Hollywood Reporter this week of dropping the artist.

David’s 2010 album The Other Side of Down has only sold 67,000 records, according to the site, and isn’t generating much buzz.

His first album, self-titled, saw much more success as it quickly went platinum in 2008.
