'American Idol' Judge Mariah Carey Denies Feuding With Nicki Minaj

As reports immediately swirled that Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj are feuding, one of the American Idol judges wants to set the record straight.

Mariah asked reporters at a press event yesterday in NYC, "How can we feud in two days?" After launching the new season with auditions over the weekend in which Mariah and Nicki were reportedly constantly interrupting each other, Mariah added, "I think a feud takes a little while longer."

According to GossipCop, all of the judges started laughing at that point. And Nicki chimed in they're all "getting along wonderfully."

Originally, a source close to Mariah indicated she didn't want to "compete" with a significantly younger woman and would have rather been the only female judge like Jennifer Lopez.
