American Music Award Nominees Announced

A country crooner, a fallen music icon and a returned rapper lead the pack in this year's nominees for the American Music Awards: Taylor Swift has nabbed six nominations, Michael Jackson comes in with five, and comeback kid Eminem received four nominations.

Winners for the awards, airing live on Nov. 22 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC, will be determined online votes cast at ama.abc.com, amavote.com and mycokerewards.com. In addition to the usual awards, T-Mobile will present Breakthrough Artist Awards.

The nominees were announced today by Paula Abdul, Adam Lambert and Snoop Dogg from the Beverly Hills Hotel. Alicia Keys, the Black Eyed Peas, Jennifer Lopez and Adam Lambert were also announced as performers for the AMAs.
