Amy Winehouse Acquitted of Assault

Well Amy Winehouse can chalk up one victory in her life since returning to London from St. Lucia: A judge acquitted the troubled singer today of assaulting a fan who asked for her picture outside a ball in September.London district Judge Timothy Workman found Amy not guilty of punching Sherene Flash in the eye, according to Reuters. Amy claimed that she was just scared and felt intimidated, and meant to simply push the woman's arm away. She also claimed that she was too short to have punched Flash in the face. The judge said he could not be sure the blow was deliberate.

"I'm relieved. I'm going home," Amy said as she left. She also released a statement, saying she was "very happy to move on with her life and put the episode behind her."
