Anderson Cooper & CNN Crew Attacked in Tahrir Square

Anderson Cooper and his CNN reporting crew was attacked in Egypt on Wednesday by protesters. Anderson was reportedly "hit in the the head several times."

According to CNN, Anderson and his crew were attacked by Hosni Mubarak supporters in Egypt.

The anchor reported on the incident himself and thankfully "no one was seriously hurt."

"The crowd set upon us," Anderson explained and added he and his crew were "kicked and punched pretty well … before the mob forced us to seek safety."

It seems Anderson and his crew are doing alright as they continue to report from a rooftop, but he said the crowd was "very violent" with "people looking for a fight."

The new wave of violence comes in the wake of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak calling for calm and announcing that he would not run for re-election in the September vote. Pro-Mubarak demonstrators are now facing off against anti-government protesters, with the army reportedly failing to step in to stop the violence.
