Andy Rooney Hospitalized, in 'Serious Condition,' Report Says

After undergoing a routine operation, TV icon Andy Rooney was hospitalized Tuesday with health complications.
Fox News and other outlets are reporting the complications are "serious," but no further details have been revealed.
CBS said in a statement that the 92-year-old writer's condition was stable and would not reveal any other details about his condition or where he was hospitalized at the request of his family.

Andy left his post as 60 Minutes anchor three weeks ago.In true Andy style — he spent 30 years complaining on 60 Minutes — he made sure to get as many complaints in as he could during his final essay on the CBS news program."I spent my first 50 years trying to become well-known as a writer and the next 30 trying to avoid being famous," he explained on 60 Minutes. "I walk down the street now and people shout, 'Hey Andy!' and I hate that."

"This is a moment I've dreaded," Andy admitted. "I wish I could do this forever. I can't though, but I'm not retiring. Writers don't retire and I'll always be a writer."
