Angelina's producer, Edin Sarkic, said rumors were spread that the film was about a relationship between a rapist and his victim. Consequently, protests began from women assaulted during the Bosnian War, the Associated Press reports.

An association of women raped during the war heard the film was about a rape victim falling in love with her rapist and they pressured city officials to withdraw Angelina's filming permit in October.

The rumors proved to be untrue. The story is actually about a Serbian man and Bosnian Muslim woman who fall in love and are separated by the war.

Angelina got her permit back three days later, but Sarkic said she decided to film some scenes in Hungary instead.

Originally, Sarkic said they planned to shoot scenes in Bosnia for about 10 days, but now the crew will film the scenes in three or four days. He also said Angelina herself will only visit the set briefly.

Angelina did exchange letters with the women's association and plans to meet with them when she is in Bosnia for her short visit.

She respects the work of the associations and would "like the opportunity to speak with them to personally clear up any misunderstandings about this project."
