When True Blood star Anna Paquin decided to reveal her bisexuality in a public service announcement for True Colors First this year, many were surprised.
But, the actress claims that her declaration wasn’t a big deal to her at all as she just wanted to send out an important message.
"It wasn't like it was a big secret. It was just a cause I cared about and privately supported,” the 27-year-old revealed to Zap2it.

Recently engaged to co-star Stephen Moyer, Anna claims that she decided to announce being bisexual for a good cause.
"I'm not someone who endlessly talks about her personal life for no reason, but obviously, as someone who identifies as bisexual, those are issues I really care about and frankly, I don't see why everyone doesn't care about them.”

The Winnipeg native admits that she wanted to play a part in making a change as the main reason for proclaiming her bisexuality.
“So when I was asked to participate in that PSA it was just an obvious, 'Well, of course I will,’” Anna told Zap2it, “Obviously I know that one person's voice doesn't necessarily do that much, but I just wanted to do my bit.”
HBO’s True Blood returns on June 13.
