After buzz gathered this morning over whether Anne Hathaway and James Franco are slated to co-host the 2011 Oscars, The Academy of Arts & Sciences has just made it official — via Twitter — that the two likable actors will do the honors!
The Academy's Tweet reads: "OFFICIAL: James Franco & Anne Hathaway to host #Oscars - Tweet them your advice! #OscarsHosts"
Anne has been nominated for an Oscar before, for her role in Rachel Getting Married, and is currently busy promoting Love & Other Drugs with Jake Gyllenhaal. Meanwhile James is one of the busiest stars out there, pursuing not only his career in movies, TV and literature, but also multiple degrees from various Ivy League institutions.
The 83rd Annual Academy Awards will take place on Feb. 27. This year must be all about Young Hollywood, if the choice in co-hosts in any indication— Anne is only 28 and James is 32. Spring chickens!
