Another Big Awards Night for Taylor Swift

Country superstar Taylor Swift may not have been able to make it in person to last night's American Music Awards in L.A., but the voters weren't going to hold that against her, as the teen singer was the evening's big winner, walking away with a total of five trophies including Artist of the Year.

Taylor, who had to resort to accepting her accolades via satellite from London, also kicked butt in the categories Favorite Pop/Rock Female, Favorite Country Female, Favorite Country Album and Favorite Adult Contemporary Artist.

The 19-year-old's victory in the Artist of the Year category came as a surprise to many who had assumed that the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson — who earned four awards at the cermony — would be the winner there.

"To even be mentioned in a category with Michael Jackson," confessed Taylor in her acceptance speech, "is an unimaginable honor."
