'The Artist' Star, Uggie the Dog: "In Love" With Reese Witherspoon

He might not be up for an Oscar, but Uggie has found much more than fame this awards season... he's found love.
Uggie's owner and trainer Owen Van Muller admits that his dog has a lot of admirers, but surprisingly, the Jack Russell terrier only has eyes for one special lady — and it's not his The Artist co-star, Berenice Bejo.

"He likes Reese Witherspoon,” Owen told Access Hollywood Live's Billy Bush and Kit Hoover. “They worked together on Water for Elephants and he just wanted to kiss her every time. He’s in love with Reese.” Guess he didn't feel the same way about Robert Pattinson!
Owen rescued Uggie when he was just “8 or 9 months old,” and knew instantly that the pup had a special gift.
“Pretty soon after I got him I knew he had star potential because he was very, very smart, paid a lot of attention, loved to train, loved to work,” Owen said of Uggie, who is set to retire after working "12 to 15 hours a day" on The Artist.

"He’s almost 10 years old and I really don’t want to put him through long hours anymore,” Owen explained of the retirement. “Maybe little things here and there, a couple of hours or something, would be fine, because he actually loves doing this work, but no more long hours.”
Ugh, we love Uggie and wish him only the best!
