Few fans were surprised or dry-eyed when, in the tropical paradise of Fiji at picturesque Vomo Island Resort, Bachelorette Ashley Hebert said yes to J.P. Rosenbaum on the Aug. 1 season finale. It was clear that the dental student fell hard for studly but gentle J.P., 34, an NYC construction manager.

And when this season saw her mocked, betrayed and humiliated, J.P. came to the rescue. “He’s been my rock,” she said. Now he’s given her a 4-carat Neil Lane diamond inscribed with “Forever.” But...

Despite the engagement, Ashley has learned that life after The Bachelorette is, well, no bed of roses.

“Chronic insecurity is taking its toll,” a show insider tells OK!. “She has huge bags under her eyes and has lost weight in the wrong places.”

Though she’s smiling to the world, Ashley secretly frets because J.P. still talks about his “dream girl” ex, publicist Stephanie Kerman.

What’s more, Ashley may be the most dissed Bachelorette in history. Ben Flajnik acted remote and aloof. Contestants “roasted” her at a comedy club and mocked her appearance. Caddish Bentley Williams called her “an ugly duckling.”

“She’s been humiliated,” the insider says. Ashley has said her biggest regret was “being played on national television.” “I’m jaded,” she noted ruefully.
