Actor, social media user, astronaut? Yes, that's right; it looks like Ashton Kutcher is catapulting himself into another planet. Or in this case, space!

The Two and a Half Men star has officially signed up to take a trip into space. Virgin Galactic's billionaire founder, Richard Branson, blogged yesterday: "I gave Ashton a quick call to congratulate and welcome him."
"He is as thrilled as we are at the prospect of being among the first to cross the final frontier (and back!) with us and to experience the magic of space for himself."

According to MSNBC, Ashton is digging deep into his pockets to pay $200,000 for the joy ride on the SpaceShipTwo rocket plane. It looks like he may not be the only thespian headed into space. Other names being tossed around are Katy Perry, Brad Pitt, Tom Hanks and Angelina Jolie. They would each pay for their own tickets.

Although Ashton's specific launch date hasn't been announced, the rocket itself will be ready for test flights later this year.
