Attention Twi-Hards, Meet 'Twilight: The Graphic Novel'
Jan. 20 2010, Published 10:35 a.m. ET
Good news, Twihards! We have something to do while we pass the time waiting for Eclipse!
Twilight: The Graphic Novel, Vol. 1 will be published by Yen Press on March 16 with 350,000 copies printed the first time.
Entertainment Weekly has a preview of the book and an interview with Stephenie Meyer in their new issue.
The graphic novel shows the Twilight characters from the mind of artist Young Kim who worked off of the original books rather than the film.
Definitely not the Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson version of Bella and Edward we're use to seeing!
"I was definitely involved," Stephenie said of her part in working on the graphic novel. "I didn’t do the original “script” for the book, so to speak. But when I got the dialogue with the images, I did a lot of tinkering. In a couple of places, I asked for missing scenes to be inserted. For example, the conversation in the car that Bella and Edward have after she faints in Biology."
Stephenie feels that reading the graphic novel reminds her of how she felt the first time she wrote Twilight.
"For me, it takes me back to the days when I was writing Twilight," she explained. "It’s been a while since I was really able to read Twilight; there is so much baggage attached to that book for me now. It seems like all I can see are the mistakes in the writing. Reading Young’s version brought me back to the feeling I had when I was writing and it was just me and the characters again. I love that. I thank her for it."

Is this the end of her work on Twilight?
"I can’t say that I am done with Twilight forever," Stephenie said. "I’m not working on anything new Twilight-related now, and probably not for a while. But there’s still a possibility that I’ll go back and close some of the open doors."
