Avril Lavigne Cancels Tour Dates

Bad news for Avril Lavigne fans on the West Coast — the Canadian pop star has been forced to pull the plug on six shows due to acute laryngitis. Adding in the cancellations of two shows from earlier last week, this brings the total of postponements to eight.
“My sincerest apologies to all of my fans," Avril said in a statement Saturday night. "My intention was to complete the rest of the tour but tonight at sound check in Anaheim I realized this wasn’t possible. Even though I have been resting my voice for days, when I tried to sing nothing came out.”
