Avril Lavigne Gets Engaged to Nickelback's Frontman Chad Kroeger

We certainly didn't see this coming! The last we heard about Avril Lavigne's love life was her breakup with Brody Jenner, but she not only found a new man, she got a 14-carat sparkler, too!

Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger popped the question after having dated Avril for six months! Apparently the two Canadian rockers paired up in February to co-write a song for her upcoming album and the rest, as they say, is history. 

Avril's friend told People, "A romantic relationship blossomed as they spent time writing together."

Another source added, "He makes her so happy. Both of their families could not be more excited." 

Although details haven't emerged as to when they'll walk down the aisle — after all, they literally just got engaged — it will be Chad's first time saying "I do," but it will be Avril's second marriage. She wed Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley in 2006 and then got divorced in 2009.
