BABS SHOWS HER GENEROUS SIDE

The St. Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists in St. Paul, Minnesota got an unexpected surprise last month when donated $10,000 to the school, which serves grades 9-12. Her record label plans on donating an additional $10,000 worth of audio-visual gear. The singer usually chooses an organization that supports the arts in the cities she visits while on tour, reisand Foundation told the school, though the foundation remained mum on the criteria. The Conservatory's executive director Terry Tofte, said the school, which opened in 2005-2005 as a public charter school focusing on theater and dance, plans on creating a recording studio with the equipment and the money donated will be used to further develop the staff and curriculum.Babs performed in the area last October. Her concert was ranked the second-grossing tour in North America last year, with $92.5 million is sales.
