In her own words, Beyoncé wrote the cover story for Essence this month about her nine-month vacation and renewal of her soul.
The singer has her fourth studio album, 4, coming out after having taken off some time to truly find herself and what's important in life.
"I had talked about taking a vacation before, but always ended up in the studio after two weeks, so no one believed me. This time, though, I was serious," Beyoncé writes. "I was going to give myself a year to do the things I never get to do."

I was looking for tiny moments that would speak to my heart and make me smile..."
And she credits her break for inspiring her creativity. So now you know why she's back and better than ever!
