“I think it is going to slow us down in a good way,” said Bill Rancic of how he feels parenthood will affect his busy life with wife and E! host Giuliana Rancic. “I think we’re ready for it.”
OK! caught up with Bill at NYC’s Waldorf-Astoria Hotel as he helped promote Hilton HHonors’ new Citi Reserve Credit Card. The very soon-to-be-dad shared his thoughts about impending fatherhood and reflected on the journey he and Giuliana took to finally become expectant parents.

“Had we not had the struggles or some of the obstacles that we had, Giuliana wouldn’t have discovered the breast cancer. We found a doctor up in Colorado who made it mandatory for her to get a mammogram and had he not done that, she would have waited until she was in her forties,” Bill told OK! exlcusively. “I always joke with Giuliana that this little baby will have saved her life. This little guy is going to be pretty special.”

Excited for his new role as Dad, Bill dished about what he is most looking forward to about playing that part. “Just holding the little guy and feeding him, and taking care of him to hopefully coaching the team and being active in that regard and teaching him all the things that my dad taught me,” said Bill. “I was lucky. I had a great father who encouraged me to do so much. I hope to be able to do the same with my son.”

Speaking of which, how did Bill feel about the news of having a boy?
“I was happy with just a healthy baby. That’s first and foremost,” Bill confided. “The boy is just a bonus! For me, I’m the last of the Rancic’s because I have three older sisters, so the name ends with me. Now it will end with my son.”
If all goes well, Bill says that expanding their family even further is a possibility. Bill explained, “It will be sooner rather than later, if it’s up to Giuliana. She wants a big family!”
