Billie Joe Armstrong & Green Day Plan to Release Two Documentaries

Calling all Green Day fans! Not only is the band going to release three (count 'em -- three!) new albums, they're going to drop two documentaries, as well.

Billboard reports the band will chronicle their three new albums along with their early years dating back to their 1994 breakthrough.
Frontman Bille Joe Armstrong explains, "It's not going to be sitting down, head shot of me going, 'We started out blah blah blah.'" Instead, he points out, "We wanted to get into lifestyles of rock 'n' roll and playing rock 'n' roll and letting the story kind of tell itself rather than create revisionist history."

In fact, the documentary based on their new albums will include their club show performance during the past 18 months, along with rehearsals and recording sesisons. Cameras apparently rolled as they rehearsed for upcoming dates in Japan and Europe. Executives are keeping their fingers crossed this particular film will be ready by January for a potential premiere at the Sundance Film Festival!

The first of their upcoming three albums, ¡Uno!, will be released on Sept. 25.
