Jon Bon Jovi couldn't have predicted this career move when he first sang about Tommy working down at the dock: The ageless hair rocker has been named NBC's first artist in residence.
Over the next two months, Jon, 47, will appear exclusively on NBC Universal shows including the Today show, The Tonight Show, The Jay Leno Show and Saturday Night Live.
He'll also pop up on the NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams, reports the New York Times, as well as Inside the Actors Studio on NBC-owned Bravo.

New Jersey's second favorite son releases his new album The Circle on Nov. 10.
“Of course you usually try to be out there everywhere when a new album is coming out,” explains the "Who Says You Can't Go Home" singer.
Always charitable, Jon's next venture is a Robin Hood restaurant in Red Bank, N.J. to “give families the dignity of sitting and being served a meal,” he says, even if they can’t afford it.
