Bon Jovi have announced they will be kicking off a new world tour at the future home of the New York Giants and Jets, the New York Times reports.
The two-year tour is set to begin May 26 starting with a show at New Jersey’s new $1.6 billion Meadowlands football stadium.
The stadium is near completion and the concert will be first ever in the new venue.
The band announced their tour plans on Thursday during an invitation-only concert held for 5,000 contest winners and construction workers in the parking lot of the new stadium.
Their plans include 135 shows in 30 countries.
Lead singer Jon Bon Jovi and lead guitarist Richie Sambora are New Jersey natives and Jon Bon Jovi said he had been attending Giant games for decades.
Today’s announcement coincided with a performance by Bon Jovi at the Meadowlands this afternoon.
