Despite having a cast that includes Oscar-fave Helen Mirren, Robin Wright Penn and Rachel McAdams, it appears that Brad Pitt has pulled out of his latest film, leaving the production in jeopardy.
The film, State of Play, was to be a big-screen version of a hit UK miniseries from 2003, which would have starred Mr. Angelina Jolie in the role of an investigative reporter looking into the death of a politician's mistress.

However, a statement released by the studio, Universal Pictures, confirms that Brad "has left... State of Play." That being said, the statement goes on to say that the studio "remains committed" to the film. No replacement has been announced for the role.
In 2002, Brad famously pulled out of the Darren Aronofsky film The Fountain as it was headed into production — the actor had even grown a lengthy beard in preparation for the role. The film was ultimately released five years later, with Hugh Jackman in the starring role.
