'Bridesmaids' Star Kristen Wiig Lands New Leading Role

Considering she co-wrote and starred in the biggest R-rated female comedy ever, Kristen Wiig's star is certainly on the rise and Hollywood execs are taking notice. The Saturday Night Live star is locked in for the leading role in a new dark comedy, Imogene.

A few months ago Kristen described the role to Indiewire, explaining, "It's basically about a girl who kind of pretends to kill herself...to get her recently ex-boyfriend's attention. She ends up having to go live with her mom, whom she hasn't seen in years."

According to Variety (via Huffington Post), not only will Kristen star in the film but she'll executive produce as well. With a busy upcoming schedule, she will also fit in a TV role as the voice of Lola Bunny in the new The Looney Tunes Show.
And that's not all, folks! Considering the mega box office sensation of Bridesmaids, there's already buzz around a possible sequel.
