Amid all the "will she or won’t she show up?" worries, OK! can set the record straight on what happened just before midnight on August 31 when arrived to host the grand opening of LAX nightclub at the Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas. Britney made the scene at 11:10pm, dressed in a cream satin dress, patent leather heels, a straw fadora, long blonde extensions and a pair of oversized shades. She was escorted to a booth quite near the one her magician friend had settled into a few minutes earlier.

Brit, accompanied by four girlfriends, was greeted with loud cheers from all angles and quickly made her way to the DJ booth where she announced her presence, shouting "Hello, Las Vegas! It's great to be here. Thanks for coming out," following which her new single "Gimme More" blasted throughout the club.

Just a few minutes later, Angel walked over to Britney’s table and tapped the pop princess on the shoulder. She turned around and said "Hey you!" and grabbed a red lollipop from Criss's hand and shared a taste of the sweet treat before handing it back to Criss.

Then it was Angel’s turn to hit the DJ booth. He announced to the audience, "ladies and gentelmen, we've got Miss Britney Spears in the house tonight. Please give her a nice warm welcome," to which the crowd wildly applauded, as "I'm a Slave for You" blasted over the loud speaker.

The two, who will both appear at next Sunday's MTV Video Music Awards, left together just minutes later.
