NEWSBritney Says "Gimme an Apology" to "More!" Magazine

Sept. 30 2009, Published 10:11 a.m. ET
It's somewhat fitting that Britney Spears has a song called "Gimme More," after she asked for -- and received -- an apology from the UK's more! magazine. The mag had published an article in June claiming they had an exclusive interview with Brit, which just wasn't the case.
In a statement from the mag's Sept. 29 issue, posted on Britney's official website, more! lays out their apology:
"More! would like to apologize to our readers and to Britney Spears for having wrongly described the Q&A with Ms Spears we published in our June 8, 2009 issue as an exclusive. The article was brought to More! by a freelance contributor, Jan Janssen. We now understand that Ms. Spears quotes where given to the press generally and not exclusively to Jan Janssen. The article was not a more! exclusive as we had been led to believe. Nor was it authorized by Ms. Spears. We apologize to Ms. Spears for any distress and damage caused."
