NEWSBritney Spears Behind Closed Doors in Court

Jan. 22 2010, Published 11:10 a.m. ET
Unlike last Friday, when Britney Spears skipped out on her expected chat with court commissioner Reva Goetz to go jewelry shopping, the pop superstar actually showed up to the courthouse this afternoon for a status hearing on her father's conservatorship powers over her personal and financial decisions.
The pop star — sporting a new shagged and streaked 'do, and wearing a short black skirt with a slit up the back, a gray sport coat, stiletto heels and bright orange lipstick — arrived along with a small army of security guards arrived (on time!) around 1:30pm this afternoon and is currently speaking to Commissioner Goetz in a closed courtroom. She was ushered into the courthouse via the judge's chambers.

Brit is attempting to show the court that she has improved significantly in the nearly two years since having control of her life handed over to her father, and that she is ready to take have the "personal" portion of the conservatorship's powers voided. If granted, that would bring her one step closer to her ultimate goal of having official, shared custody of her two sons with ex-husband Kevin Federline. Currently, Britney only has a visitation agreement with K-Fed.
