Britney Spears in Talks to Pen Novel Based on Her Life

It seems like you're nothing today without at least one roman a clef under your belt and Britney Spears is the latest celebrity to hop on the literary bandwagon and churn out a hopeful New York Times bestseller.

Today The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Brit will follow in Lauren Conrad's L.A. Candy footsteps and pump out a fictionalized novel about her life.

That being said, it won't quite be the juicy memoir her mother Lynn Spears published (which blasted former manager Sam Lufti and former lover Adnan Ghalib). Instead, this will be an account of a girl who's kind of like Britney and has a career sort of like hers.

For someone who's life has been under the microscope for so long, the singer is notoriously private. So the fact she can muddy some details and switch around others is probably an attractive deal.

No word on possible titles, advance or estimated publication date.
