In her new book, Brooke writes that while she "loves her children madly" she sometimes doesn't "like" her children.
"It was one of those scary "naked truths" I call them in the book," she explained on GMA. "I reveal I don't always like my children and taken out of context and I thought that could really be misinterpreted. I don't think most people are strong enough to understand I love my children equally and I love them madly and deeply.
"But there are different things I prefer with different children," she added. I've got a tween that she has her moments, I've got a four year old that's just full of light and love and energy, my son is bad to the bone sometimes and my eight year old has her issues, but I love them all madly. But I think as a mother you love your child differently and you go through phases and it's really about communicating and listening to them and figuring out what works with each child."

Good Morning America shared an excerpt from Brooke's book that can help give you a sense of the style the Dancing With the Stars co-host took in The Naked Mom.
"The Naked Mom is motherhood, revealed. It's not about being right or wrong. It's about being authentic," she writes."When you're raising four children, running a household, tending a relationship, building a multimillion-dollar business, and pursuing a television career, there's no room for pretense or posturing. I always knew I would be a mother, but I never imagined I would have this many children this fast, or that our lives would be full of changes and new challenges every day. But I was raised to take chances, to be strong, and to find my own way.

"When I think about myself as a mother, I suppose that's just what I've done," she explains. "I don't believe in A-to-Z guides that spell out the "right" way to raise your children, or be a wife, or realize your personal goals. There's always going to be someone out there wanting to tell you exactly how to do it—that opinionated friend who thinks her way is the only way, another mother who's doing something better than you are."
"My purpose here isn't to suggest that I have all the answers—far from it," Brooke adds. "But I have had plenty of trial and error, under circumstances both ordinary and extraordinary. I hope that this book makes people laugh, because I certainly laugh at myself even in my most stressful situations. You have to keep dancing even when life seems to be getting the best of you."
