A brand-new show is premiering tonight on ABC Family and it is definitely one not to be missed.
Coming from the creator of the beloved hit Gilmore Girls, Amy Sherman-Palladino, Bunheads is a show that takes place in a quaint little town just like Stars Hollow.

This new family show stars Broadway veteran Sutton Foster and tells the story of a Las Vegas showgirl who impulsively gets married and then moves to small town where she takes on a teaching job at the local ballet school, helmed by her new mother-in-law (Kelly Bishop).
If you may recall, Kelly also played the mother figure on Gilmore Girls, yet another thing that the two shows have in common. But the creator says that they are completely different characters.
Amy tells TVLine.com, "Kelly in real-life is this woman. Kelly is much more of a broad than Emily Gilmore was. Emily Gilmore was very pristine and precise. If you’ve ever sat down with Kelly Bishop and had a couple of cocktails, you know, she’s a broad."

And what about Sutton, will she be able to make the jump from Broadway star to TV star? Amy seems to think so: "She’s a chameleon. One minute she can be glammy and the next minute she’s the girl next door and the next minute she’s Barney Fife."
