'The Buried Life' Rivals Lady Gaga for Best VMA Drag

Lady Gaga wasn’t the only one rocking gender-bending attire at this year’s VMAs. The boys from MTV’s, The Buried Life, walked (in very high heels) the red carpet dressed in full drag. Sporting a micro-mini, sequined dress, and a “poof” that would make Snooki blush, the boys were almost unrecognizable.

“Our inspiration was a mix between Alexander McQueen and John Mellencamp,” Ben Nemtin explains to OK! who adds that a fashion must is, “a small dog, it always helps!”
The real reason for the wardrobe choice? To cross another item off their bucket list: “Make the Best Dressed List.”

While that’s probably an unlikely feat (sorry guys!), the best friends have had good luck at the VMAs in the past.
Before they were famous, Duncan Penn, Jonnie Penn, Dave Lingwood and Ben, actually crashed the VMAs and that lead to their own show, “We broke into the VMAs in 2007, from that built a pilot and sold that to MTV.” Says Duncan, “We were wearing suits we got at a thrift store and they were all ‘80s power suits.”

While the guys didn’t shave their legs for their daring stunt, when it comes to facial hair, Ben says he is a fan of a close cut shave, “the worst fashion faux pas is the 5 o’clock shadow.”
Was that a stab at the scruffy-faced mystery man who accompanied his ex, Whitney Port, to the premiere of The Change Up with earlier this month?
