Canadian songstress Carly Rae Jepsen has revealed that she had a thing for bad boys.

The 26-year-old Call Me Maybe singer opened up in the October 2012 issue of Fashion magazine about her taste in men.

As okmagazine.com previously reported, the brunette starlet recently split from her architecture student beau, Jordi Ashworth, who inspired her hit song Call Me Maybe.

He had put his studies on hold to join her on tour but Carly is now dating budding musician Matthew Koma.

Carly is tipped as the next big thing in pop but she says she could never dethrone one of her idols.

"Nobody can do Britney again," she said. "She did a great job at it. I just want to be the best Carly Rae I can be."

Carly exploded onto the music scene after Justin Bieber posted a video of himself with girlfriend Selena Gomez and Ashley Tisdale dancing to her song back in February.

She says her upcoming album, Kiss, can be compared to the work of flamboyant fashion designers.

"My new songs are like clothes done by Versace or Moschino," Carly said. " My music is bejeweled, it's colorful, it's romantic, it shines."
