Carmelo Anthony is headed to the Big Apple. The Denver Nuggets All-Star forward has been traded to the New York Knicks, bring to a close what has been season-long speculation about his fate. Carmelo and his wife LaLa Vasquez will be moving to NYC, the pro baller's desired destination.
Along with Carmelo, the Knicks acquired Chauncey Billups, Shelden Williams and Ronaldo Balkman in their deal with the Nuggets and also kept Corey Brewer, who was to be traded by the Minnesota Timberwolves reports suggested he would head to Denver.
The Knicks will send Wilson Chandler, Raymond Felton, Danilo Gallinari, Timofey Mozgov and a 2014 first-round draft pick to the Nuggets, who would get additional picks and cash, along with a reported $3 million in cash, The Long Island Press reports.
"I'm glad it's over," Nuggets coach George Karl told the Denver Post, via ESPN, of the trade. "I'm glad it's an opportunity to reinvent. I think everybody handled it as classy as you could handle it. There's some sadness to it, there always will be."
We can't wait to see Carmelo and Amare Stoudemire team up together, and it seems like everyone is happy.
