Carrie Underwood on Having Kids: "We're Not Ready"
Dec. 6 2011, Published 11:22 a.m. ET
Last night at the American Country Awards at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, newlywed Carrrie Underwood dished to OK! about her future plans to not have kids. Indicating hubby hockey player Mike Fisher's schedule is "absolutely insane," it doesn't sound like the pitter patter of little feet will be arriving any time soon!
Carrie told OK!, "I'm still a newlywed and with next year being so busy and I think 2013 is probably going to end up being pretty busy as well and my husband's hockey schedule is absolutely insane." The 2005 American Idol winner explained, "I really think it would be a bad idea. 'Sorry honey, you're not going to see the kids for a couple months because we're all going on tour'...I just don't think that would be really fair. We're not ready. We're just, you know, we're enjoying each other and spending time with each other and just having fun and being silly." In July 2010, Carrie and Mike got married at the Ritz-Carlton Resort at Reynolds Plantation in Greensboro, Ga. With more than 250 guests in attendance including Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Garth Brooks, Paula Abdul, Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson, she surprised her new hubby when one of their favorite artists, Brandon Heath, sang "Love Never Fails" for their first dance.
