Casey Anthony's Lawyer Jose Baez: "Caylee Anthony's Memory Rose Above the Circus"

Casey Anthony's defense attorneys, Jose Baez and Cheney Mason, were reportedly out celebrating after their 25-year-old defendant was acquitted of first-degree murder yesterday in Orlando, Fla. Were they surprised by the jury's decision? Casey's team discussed the “not guilty” verdict, their case and what the future holds for her.
Baez reflected on everyone still questioning who killed 2-year-old Caylee Marie Anthony.
"This was a horrible tragedy, an accident that snowballed out of control. And it doesn’t get any clearer than that," he told Fox News Channel's Geraldo Rivera. "The jury saw that, and they’re the ones that heard all of the evidence, not the propaganda and the speculation and the Frankenstein-like lynch mob that ensued throughout the last three years."
Baez added, "But they heard the evidence — what our system is based on. This is a tragedy and nothing less. It is what it is, and we’re happy for Casey, and we’re happy that Caylee’s memory did not get diminished into this circus. Caylee’s memory came out and rose above the circus. And that is what I’m most in touch with right now.”
Baez also wanted to set the record straight about those who suggest he and his defense team didn't expect the "not guilty" verdict.

"We always felt very strongly about our case," he explained. "We always felt that this case was built on nothing. The jury saw through all of the fantasy of forensics. They saw through a lot of the lies that were presented before them. I have to salute this jury, and I hope to one day have the opportunity to speak to them, both individually and collectively, and learn from them, and to thank them for being courageous and standing up for our constitution and standing up for our freedom."
He continued, "No one has the place to say one single word about this jury, and if they do, I’m coming after them.”
So what does the future have in store for Casey?
"Well, she’s an adult. We will discuss that with her," Baez said. "This time united and this team is a close-knit group, and we’re all going to get together and help her take the next step for the rest of her life.”
