Catalina Sandino Moreno no longer a nail biter

Oscar nominee Catalina Sandino Moreno, 26, started acting at age 13 to overcome a bad habit. “I went to acting class because I was biting my nails,” the Love In The Time of Cholera star tells me. “Some shrink told my family that ‘that kid is very shy,’ so they put me in theater classes. I was there because I was biting my hands. The first day was very funny. The teacher: ‘Why are you here?’ All the kids were like ‘because I love theater and I love actors.’ I’m like ‘because I’m biting my nails?’ It’s very strange how everything happens, but I start falling in love with acting. I don’t need to bite my nails anymore.”
