The upcoming movie (that's still in the development phases) is based on the 2008 biography Life of Evel.
Evel gained fame in the 1960s for his amazing, death-defying motorcycle jumps and over the next two decades took his act everywhere from Las Vegas to The Grand Canyon to Snake River Valley. He's a Guinness Book of World Records holder for surviving the most broken bones (44) throughout his career.
Channing is not only in talks to star but also produce the movie, alongside producers Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti.

Meanwhile, 2012 is turning out to be a make it or break it year for Channing, and boy is he making it.
Aside from a roster of upcoming movies already in the works, his semi-autobiographical ode to male stripping, Magic Mike, is doing well at the box office, making $75 million to date, and there's talk for a Broadway musical and sequel.
