Charlize Theron is no stranger to the adoption process. The actress recently took in two abused and abandoned rescue dogs and also added a baby to the mix when she adopted her son, Jackson.
But despite her experience with the drawn-out process, Charlize still gets emotional when she talks about finally taking home her son and calling him her own.
“The process, it took around two years," Charlize reveals to Ellen DeGeneres in an interview airing today on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
"My mom said the most beautiful thing. I’m going to cry. She said…'It took me nine months to fall in love with you when you were growing in my stomach.' She’s like, 'It took you two years to fall in love with this little baby,' a teary-eyed Charlize recalled.
“It really took two years of just waiting and then one day the baby is finally there," she explained. "It just feels exactly how it’s supposed to feel. I don’t know how to describe it. It just feels right.”
