It's got to be be something of a daunting task starting your first day in the White House.
But as President Obama takes office, at least he can be sure he has the confidence of a pop legend!
At the Feeding America Inauguration party last night in Washington D.C., Cher told OK! that she thinks he'll easily live up to the sky-high expectations the world has for him.
"I just want to see him be as smart as he is and I believe his intelligence is so great and he will do as much if not more than people expect of him," said the Believe singer.
"He is totally the right person for this position. He brings something more in his spirit and there is something about him that instills trust in me."
"The Republicans nearly killed me!," she added.
"My spirit is renewed, this is such a great time to be an American!"
She also had some revolutionary advice for the losing party: try another country.
"Republicans: why would you want to be one, especially if your a minority?," she said.
