Since Christian Siriano walked away a winner on Project Runway in 2008, his life has been charmed.
First, he gets to call Heidi Klum a friend. The supermodel, 36, is mom to Leni, 5, Henry, 4, Johan, 2, and Lou, three weeks, and has been married to Seal since 2005.
“She’s the sweetest mom in the world,” the designer, 23, tells me during the ACE Awards presented by the Accessories Council held this week in NYC. “She’s great because she’s so real, she’s at home, she’s in no makeup and flats and she’s like ‘I don’t care.’ You go into the house, and there are kids’ drawings everywhere. It’s so refreshing because she, herself, is a big star, but even Seal is so internationally in a moment, that you would think he would be like … but he’s such a cool dad, I love it! They’re the best.”

Christian is also working on the movie adaptation of the iconic kids’ book, Eloise In Paris, which is due to be released in 2010.
“What I’m doing in the movie is this haute couture fashion show set in the 1920s, and I’m doing all the costumes for that,” he says. “And then there’s this moment where Uma Thurman gets dressed up. It’s all very touch-and-go, but it’s going to be very fabulous.”
He continues, “It’s going to be the most amazing experience. It’s still in the early stages because it’s sketches and using fabrications. It took a big break after the crazy economy, and it’s been pushed back a million times. I mean, movies are a lot of work. I didn’t realize how long it could take. I think it will be amazing once it happens.”
Hm, I wonder what will be in store for Christian tomorrow. Something fabulous, I’m sure.
