Though she's performed Shakespeare on the silver screen in Romeo & Juliet and starred in a handful of Off-Broadway theatrical productions during her young career, Claire Danes had yet to take the plunge into the bright footlights of Broadway - until now. The 28-year-old beauty is set to make her Broadway debut this fall when she takes on the classic role of Eliza Doolittle, the Cockney flower girl who learns the ways of a proper London lady, in the revival of George Bernard Shaw's Pygmalion. The production, which begins preview performances Sept. 21 at the American Airlines Theatre, officially opens Oct. 18 and is scheduled to run through Dec. 16.Photo: Wireimage.com
