Colin Farrell Explains Friendship with Elizabeth Taylor

If you were surprised to hear that Colin Farrell not only attended Elizabeth Taylor's funeral but also recited a poem, you're not alone. The native Irish actor recently opened up about his unlikely friendship with the late legend.

According to PopEater, Colin explains, "How did we become friends? You know, the old story of boy meets girl, and boy pesters girl with too many phone calls at inappropriate hours of the night." He sounds very fortunate to not only have met Elizabeth but befriended the icon as well. "I was just lucky enough to become her friend in the last year and a half. I adore her...still."

Sounds like reading the poem, The Leaden Echo and the Golden Echo, created sweaty palms for the seasoned actor. Plus, her request to recite the poem was made before her actual death! "Elizabeth chose it," he recalls. "It was a tricky poem as well. Even in passing she had me under the thumb, sweating bricks."
He adds, "I just miss her; I just miss her; I just miss her."
