Conan O'Brien was back at work on The Tonight Show last night, despite sustaining a concussion while filming a skit with Desperate Housewives star Teri Hatcher on Sept. 25.
"As many of you may know, on this past Friday's show I was doing a stunt and I hit my head and suffered a slight concussion," the 6 ft. 4 in. funnyman announced Sept. 28, "And I promise, if you're a good audience, I'll do it again tonight."
Conan, 46, joked that he struck his head so hard during a sketch (racing Teri, 44, on a slick floor) "that for five seconds I actually understood the plot of Lost."
When the flame-haired comedian —who took over Jay Leno's spot at The Tonight Show after 17 years in June— played a clip of the fall, the audience gasped. ''So tune in tomorrow when Eva Longoria pushes me down an elevator shaft,'' Conan quipped about Teri's onscreen neighbor. ''It's going to be sexy.''

Meanwhile, the curse of late night continues. Jimmy Fallon, 35, tweeted about an injury sustained during filming on Sept. 28, "I split my elbow." The Late Night with Jimmy Fallon host added in a later tweet, "Not bad at all. I smacked it when I elbowed the ottoman. No crying."
