At a star-studded birthday bash for pal Victoria Beckham on April 21, looked ravishing in a yellow Balenciaga mini-dress with her husband, Tom Cruise, by her side. The pair looked as happy as ever despite another recent round of tabloid rumors claiming the super couple's marriage is on the rocks.

Tabloid covers screaming "It's Over!" and "Trial Separation" would hurt any happy wife. But to Katie, these were fighting words. Although it isn't the first time she has faced such accusations, and she certainly knows it won't be the last, it doesn't make it any easier.

"Katie wishes she didn't care about the gossip and rumors, but it is hard for her not to," a friend of the actress tells OK!. The 29-year-old wife and mother recently told her pal how angry she is over this new round of hurtful tales about her marriage.

"She is such a sweet person and never has anything bad to say about anyone," the friend tells OK!. "She doesn't understand why some people are wishing problems on her and Tom."

So how does Mrs. Cruise keep it all together? "Her solution is to keep going about her life, business as usual," her friend says. "She'll keep a smile on her face when she's out in public with Tom and keep the hurt hidden at home."
