We all know her as the fiery red-head Miranda Hobbes on Sex and the City, but today, Cynthia Nixon showed off her new bald head on Live! with Kelly, shocking fans and viewers.
Cynthia's trademark red hair was completely shaved off as she walked out to greet Kelly Ripa and her guest co-host Mary J. Blige. But why did she do it?

The actress shaved off her locks for her role in the Manhattan Theatre Club's production of Wit, in which she plays poetry professor Vivian Bearing, who's diagnosed with cancer.
"I thought it was kind of gonna be no muss-no fuss, but I have to shave it every day!" Cynthia, who battled cancer herself in 2006, told Kelly and Mary. "It's got kind of a five o'clock shadow, and you don't want to go on with that," she added.
